Beth Shriever and setbacks Transcript

My name is Bethany Shriever, I'm a professional BMX racer for Team GB and I'm so excited to be working with NatWest in 2025 and beyond.

So I think one of the biggest setbacks that almost made me give up was when obviously the funding got cut for the women in BMX. I think it made it extremely hard to actually look ahead and look into the future as to what was possible for me. So when that happened, it was a bit of a downer and I kind of had to reset my mindset and focus elsewhere. So, once I'd done that, was making gains, was going to all the races, that's when British Cycling then picked me up and the journey could continue but that was a very close point.
