Money to me before I started the Thrive project, there was never really an understanding there.

I would say before this programme, the way I felt about money was a bit careless.

I'd get money and then I'd spend it all.

NatWest Thrive is a financial confidence and future skills programme that transforms the way that young people think about money and their future.

The programme is about improving self-belief, inspiring young people to reach their dreams and get into good money habits.

We soon realised that the kids were more engaged when they were being active, so we tried to make all of the activities as active as we could, whether that was walking around the neighbourhood, handing out positivity postcards and engaging with the community, or that's playing football and adding questions into a football game.

I want you to write down the first things that come into your mind. The first things.

We're smashing it. We're absolutely smashing it. Believe in yourself. Nice, man.

He'll like give you ideas to think about and you can like build off them ideas that he gives you.

A rich mindset, a growth mindset. Remember all the conversations we've had about not having a pound, turning it into 10 pounds.

Curtis obviously talks to us about the future as well.

Like, he'll ask us what we want to be when we're older. How do you want to invest in stuff? Do you want your own business? And I said I want to start my own business, which I might be doing soon.

So I've definitely learned money skills. When I speak to my parents, they're really impressed by how much I know and it makes me feel happy.

NatWest Thrive is in over 90% of secondary schools across the UK, which for me is incredible. This is really engaging learning that teachers can pick and choose from to implement in their lessons and really make a difference to the young people in their classrooms.

Some of the impact is immediate, just when you see the students engaging in the lessons and actually being very thoughtful and vocal about some of the concepts that are being discussed. And when they've come out, they've been beaming.

I've come to a point where I've got savings, I've opened a savings account, and my savings account has a lot more than my spending account.

Young people are learning so many things from this programme, not just about money, but, you know, how to dream big, achieve big, and realise that, you know, they can be anything they want to be.

It's so encouraging watching them grow.I'm extremely proud of them and I know the rest of the team are, and just listening to some of the stuff that they say literally melts our hearts.

I enjoyed talking about the future because it gives me a lot of self-confidence, and they told us to never give up on what we do. Yeah, I can't wait. I can't wait for the future. It's going to be really good.
